2. Product specific information
All products made by Black Sheep Leather are individually handcrafted and finished, using only the finest leathers and threads, and are dispatched in perfect condition.
Products are intended for use in an average urban environment and climate. The backpacks are not intended for mountain use or in extreme conditions. Products are not designed to carry heavy loads and should not be considered fully waterproof. They are not toys and not intended for use by children.
Leather, especially Full Grain Leathers, are subject to minor imperfections and graining, related to the skin of the animal, and are entirely normal and consistent with all non corrected types of leathers.
Artisan hand dyed vegetable tanned leathers often have minor colour variations within batches. Colour variations are kept to minimum during manufacture however, the colour of an item can vary slightly from the one photographed or when viewed on different monitors.
Hand stitching is never as accurate and regimented as machine stitching and small variations in stitch line and angle are almost inevitable.

3. Payments & Contract
By clicking on the ‘Pay now’ button you have entered into a contract to purchase a Black Sheep Leather product(s). This does not affect your ‘statutory rights’ and you have the right to cancel (see below). Products paid for by personal cheque will not be dispatched until the payment has cleared. Prices are displayed in Pounds Sterling and Black Sheep Leather is not VAT Registered.
Black Sheep Leather retains the right not to enter into a contract to sell a product, or accept a Custom Order, and any sum debited to us will be refunded as soon as possible.
4. Guarantee
I will undertake to repair, or replace free of charge, any item that becomes faulty within 3 months from the date of receipt. I would expect: that you should not have attempted to repair the item yourself and that you used it in line with the usage statements, and you complied with my After Care guidance. I would not consider general wear and tear, in normal use, to be reasonable grounds for replacement.
Always use the Contact Form to let me know what the problems are before returning the item and see the Returns Policy for details.
5. Repairs
If your item becomes damaged, in normal use, I may still be able to repair or replace a damaged section. There will usually be a small charge for this and I would expect you to cover the costs of return and re delivery. Any repairs or replaced sections will be as close to the original as possible however, colours of leather and other components can differ and it may not be possible to always achieve an exact match.
6. Custom Orders & Initials Embossing
Black Sheep Leather undertakes custom work in line with an individual’s specific requirements. This can range from minor variations to an existing product e.g. altering the size or embossing initials, to entirely new one-off items.
Custom made products are all made to order and maybe subject to queuing dependent upon work load and although an estimate of time until dispatch is given this may be subject to change. The embossing of initials has to be done before the item is assembled and is therefore subject to queuing as above.
For custom items there may be additional costs to cover the extra work such as: designing, drawing and cutting new patterns and making wooden molds. Work starts only after full payment is received and changes cannot normally be made.
Once agreed a customer’s specific requirements will be set out in a confirmation email and detailed on the invoice. It is the customer’s responsibility to read through this, check the details e.g. initials and sizes etc. and raise immediately any: concerns, corrections, or issues where a misunderstanding has arisen.
Custom ordered products cannot usually be resold so have little return or resale value. They can be returned if faulty, or for repair, but if a Custom Order is returned under the ‘cancellation of purchase’ regulation then a full refund may not be given.
If, for whatever reason, you are unhappy with your custom order please contact me as soon as possible to discuss the problem.
7. Right to cancel and refunds
You have the right to cancel the purchase of an item without having to give a reason at any time within of 30 days of receipt of the goods. While you are in possession of the goods you are under the duty to retain them and take reasonable care of them.
To ensure a full refund you should return the item(s) in the same condition as received, unused, and in a condition suitable for reselling.
8. Returns Policy
As soon as possible once you have cancelled the contract, or agreed a return –
You should send the goods, including dust bags, back to me to the contact address (above) at your own cost (unless the item is delivered to you in error, or is received already damaged or defective).
Ideally, retain and reuse the packaging supplied and in any case always use a sturdy cardboard box to return items to avoid damage in transit.
I also recommend that you use trackable and signed for postal services and let me know the tracking number. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure safe return delivery and Black Sheep Leather will not accept responsibility for damage in transit due to poor handling or packaging.
Once received and assessed any sum, or part thereof, debited to us will be refunded to you as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days of your cancellation.
